This collection of stories showcase--as the title so aptly indicates--a variety of choices faced by individuals in a multitude of situations. When reading tales in this fashion, I often "bookmark" favorites of mine. Upon completion, I was astounded to discover that I had singled out 10 of 15 stories that truly stood out for me! Ordinarily, I consider four stories in a collection a sign that I liked the book overall. The reason for this is simple--the writing style. Michael Twist has a certain "style" to his writing that simply captures the imagination right from the first sentence, and doesn't release you until you've reached the conclusion. His words will completely immerse you with their depth of feeling.In this collection, you'll find stories with all kinds of outcomes: some beautiful, some gut-renching, some sorrowful . . . I'll even admit to actually shedding some tears over a couple of them.
I don't want to single out details of any one story for fear of ruining the experience with possible spoilers for other readers. However, I will say that stories such as "Ties That Bind", "Sagacity", and "Full of Choices", are among those that will stay with you indefinitely.
Michael Twist is an exceptional author, whose tales truly resonate with me. I hope that many other readers will discover this same connection.

This was another volume of Twist's Tales that I couldn't put down.
I like that each volume of short stories is stylistically different, but not in a shocking way. Just enough to show that the author is capable of bringing different things to the forefront; Volume One had stories that were cliffhangers while Volume 3 had stories that left me startled at the plot twists.
In this volume the characters are people I want to know better. Every character has choices to make, and within a few short pages I felt like I understood their motivations.
It wasn't until I finished the book (in one sitting, I admit) and closed it and then looked at the cover that I recognized how much work goes into Twist's craft. Yet the reading is effortless, like listening to a friend tell a story around a campfire or over a dinner table.

Choices, we make hundreds and hundreds of choices daily. In Full of Choices, Twist's Tales Volume 2, Michael Twist uses his masterful storytelling voice on fifteen stories about the various choices people make, complete with his patented twists at the end. This collection flows seamlessly from one story to the next, each with characters of differing ages facing their choices' consequences.
While I enjoyed the collection as a whole, I find that one story always stands out as favorite. In this collection, "Three Stones" truly spoke to me as Mary locks herself in her father's hunting cabin for the summer months on a self-imposed diet to lose fifty pounds. Although I have never gone to the extremes Mary does to lose weight, I understand the struggle firsthand since I have fought a similar battle.
With engaging stories that touch the heart, Full of Choices is an impressive assortment you will have a hard time putting down.

Few short story authors create stories that are consistently full of food for thought, or have characters that are facing difficulties or choices that stay with you as well as Michael Twist has managed. Each of his collections has become my favorite of the moment, yet each has a story that has stuck with me to be pondered later. This collection is no different with fifteen stories that highlight the everyday choices, and perhaps the not so, that will have an effect on the life lived at the moment, if not longer.
I can't say enough about this author's work full of instantly accessible ideas and thoughts the stories marinate and will present you with many more ideas later on. While I won't highlight one particular story as the `must read', each reader will find that story that speaks louder to them at the moment they read i. Beware though, these collections are addictive and you will find yourself reaching for them over and over again when you have a moment and a taste for something different.
